Wine Writers' Index
Appellation America’s "Meet the Wine Press" writers’ index is intended to serve as a common portal and "Billboard" for all wine writers working in both print and on-line media. We have a particular interest in giving regionally focused writers the broadest professional exposure and audience for their work. We see this as a critical part of our mission to "build appellation consciousness in North America".
Memo to Wine Writers
Getting registered in the Wine Writer Index is as simple as this:
- Obtain your login ID by contacting us at login@appellationamerica.com. Be sure to include your name and email address. Your login code and temporary password will be emailed back to you within 24 hours.
- Use your login to get into the secure press area where you will be invited to fill out the Writer's Profile form and to build your personal bibliography of up-to 20 pieces of your wine writing (including writing for on-line publications). These can go back as far as you wish; don't hesitate to include out-of-print material (see below). For newly published work, be sure to check the "New" box…these citations will be promoted in continuous rotation on the Appellation America Writers' Billboard for 30 days.
- Email us a picture of yourself (optional). That's it; within a day or so your biography, bibliography, and "mug shot" will be accessible for a global audience.
- login as frequently as you want to edit or make additions to your biographical and bibliographical information.
- All "new" work will be prominently promoted for 30 days on Appellation America's WINE WRITER'S BILLBOARD.
- Your book publications will be directly linked to your publisher, or to your own URL and postal address if you are acting as your own distributor or directly linked to on-line book sellers (Amazon or Abe's Books).
- Your story contributions to on-line publications will be directly linked. Your newspaper and periodical citations will also be linked directly to the online editions of those publications, or to your own website if you are archiving your own work. Even if the work appears (or appeared) in a print-only publication, the full citation will be displayed for interested readers to pursue at the newsstand or in the library.
- AppellationAmerica will even archive your out-of-print stories and features on a permission basis if they qualify for one of our Appellation Libraries. In the business of "building appellation consciousness in North America", no good work should ever go out-of-print or be inaccessible.
