Winemaker: Casey Hartlip

Partner and winemaker since the winery was founded in 1995. Casey has never been formally trained in winemaking. He started by making a single barrel of Zinfandel in 1990 from second crop fruit in his garage. Many of Mendocino's best winemakers are his mentors including Greg Graziano, Dennis Patton, Bob Swain, Van Williamson, Dennis Martin and others. It was from their encouragement that Casey took up the craft.
