Our rising star, Winemaker Jean Hoefliger, was born and raised in Switzerland and worked at the esteemed Bordeaux estates of Chateau Lynch-Bages and Chateau Carbonnieux, in South Africa at Meerlust, and most currently as the former winemaker at Newton Vineyards in California.

Consulting Winemaker: Alpha Omega’s winemaking team includes one of the wine world’s superstars, Michel Rolland. Universally considered one of the world’s best palates, a man with enormous expertise, Rolland will be working with Winemaker Jean Hoefliger beginning with the 2006 vintage, both in the vineyard and in the cellar, to insure that Alpha Omega’s wines are literally world-class. Rolland, a native of Bordeaux, today consults for more than 100 wineries in 12 countries around the world as well as owning several wineries himself and directing one of the wine industry’s most respected laboratories in Bordeaux.

Our Winemakers’ goal is to create and fashion a wine that will reflect their passion and express the terroir that is Napa Valley. Aside from our vineyards on the Alpha Omega property, our winemakers hold a strong belief that sourcing grapes from terroirs representing different appellations in Napa Valley will bring a unique aromatic profile and complexity to our wines.
