Briceland Vineyards
2012 Humboldt Sauvignon Blanc(Humboldt County)
When it comes to Calfornia, Humboldt County is truly a region to it's own, especially southern Humboldt. This is beyond cool climate and the bracing acidity shows the difference.
Pale straw color. Quite fresh with bright candied apple aromas and hints of English pea earthiness. Oily and rich with soft tannin density made lively by bracing acidity. Moderate alcohol allows a long, clean, lively finish. (13.5% alc).
Given there are great oyster beds offshore in that blue northern coast Pacific, it would not be a stretch to suggest this with oysters any day of the week.
