Casey Flat Ranch
2010 CFR Estate Sauvignon Blanc(Capay Valley)
Casey Flat Ranch has one estate white wine and that is Sauvignon Blanc. This mountain vineyard in the extreme north west corner of Capay Valley and Yolo County is defining the region.
Winemaker Laura Barrett has crafted an exceptional Sauvignon Blanc from the vineyards planting of the Musque clone and has blended the three separate blocks of hillside and 'Flat' orientation.
The nose is just simply LUSH with slight opening grassy nuance that lead to tropical aromatics, sweet pineapple and hints of lime. It is a statement to the above blending where a newer hillside block has delivered the most tropical aspects yet. On the palate the wine delivers beautiful balance of acid and tropical notes, an almost creamy core with white peach and lime elements.
There is little doubt this wine defines Sauvignon Blanc from Capay Valley and reflects its mountain home.
