Wine Recommendation

Casey Flat Ranch

2009 CFR Estate Red
(Capay Valley)

From the mountain regions of Capay Valley AVA, this blend of primarily Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon is showing tremendous promise that this region can excel.

Depth of color is tremendous and a reflection of mountain grown fruit. Little wonder as part of this block is drilled into solid rock.

The nose presents the meaty characteristics of Syrah and hints of oak. After open for a period elements of lavendar perfume can appear. It invites exploration of taste.

Beacon fat meatiness, cherry and red berry fruits emerge quickly supported by firm but fine grained tannin forming a very credible structure. Lingering finish consistently reminds of cherry and an invitation to have another sip.

This wine demands a serious food pairing at the best of steak houses or snuggled up to your back yard BBQ when kick'n back and stay'n close makes more sense-luxury regardless.
