Winemaker: Marcia Monahan-Torres
Marcia began her career in winemaking at Viña Cousiño Macul in Santiago, Chile. She then joined Viña Canepa in Santiago, Chile as Assistant Winemaker. In 1996, Marcia came to the United States as part of the Communicating for Agricultural and Exchange Program (CAEP).
Marcia’s first California winemaking job was as an enologist at the esteemed Cardinale Winery in Napa Valley. Following Cardinale, Marcia joined Kendall Jackson Winery in both Sonoma County and Napa County as Assistant Winemaker. In 2006, Marcia was named Winemaker for Pelton House and managed the final blend of the 2004 vintage wines.
Marica resides in Knights Valley and serves as an ambassador for the appellation. “I feel passionate about the history of the Valley... I love Mount St. Helena, the creeks with pristine water, the aromas of the pine trees, bay leaves, manzanita bushes and mainly the serenity of the land.”
