Forlorn Hope
2010 Que Saudade, DeWitt Vineyard(Amador County)
The arrival of Portugese grapes was early but limited in California. Verdelho has been a standout white and grown in the Sierra Foothills Amador County, Que Saudade from the DeWitt Vineyard is a knock out example. Aromatics pour from the glass leading to rich ripe fruit flavors. Bright and focused acidity is vibrant and refreshing. A touch of minerality is found just underneath. Excellent summer wine with a slight chill.
