Bargetto Winery
2006 Pinot Grigio(California)
The fruit for this well-made Bargetto Pinot Grigio comes from all over California, and was harvested as early as August and as late as mid October. Some grapes came from the Silvaspoons vineyard in Lodi, some from Lucas & Lewellen in Santa Barbara, others from Heringer in Clarksburg, Smith Vineyard in Arroyo Seco, Basor in Santa Cruz County, and Amorosa in Lodi. Now that’s quite a parentage. All that variety adds up to one tasty, summer-anytime sipper.
Pale yellow with a hint of green, this wine invites you to experience summer in every sip. Not a foot put wrong, it daintily dances down a flagstone path, through summer daisies, lavender and aspens shaking in the wind. Like a ballerina with pure intent, its pure flavors of citrus, melon and crisp pineapple take you to the edge of a wind-kissed deck, overlooking the endless blue of a brilliant lake.

The ReviewerA wine writer and wine judge for major publications and competitions around the country, Laura Ness likens wine to the experience of music. She is always looking for that ubiquitous marriage of rhythm, melody, and flawless execution. What is good music? You know it when you get lost in it. What is good wine? It is music in your mouth. |
