Galen Glen Vineyard and Winery
Our vineyard has an elevation of 1000ft resting on a ridge just north of the Blue Mountain, the eastern edge of the Appalachian Mountains. This region is referred to as the Ridge and Valley Appalachians, characterized by long, even ridges, with long, continuous valleys. The soil is Berks Shale, fossil filled sedimentary rock that forms well-drained soils. Our soil, location and elevation combine to form a unique micro-climate featuring dry summers and long cool autumns, perfect for crisp white wines.
