Orange Muscat Grape Details

This white grape variety with Muscat characteristics is apparently unrelated to Muscat Blanc à Petits Grains. It is known as Moscato Fior d’Arancio in Italy, and there is less than 100 acres planted in California, with a small scattering in Oregon. It produces a quality dessert wine and is grown in warm to hot regions. It is an early ripener and a high yielding varietal.

Bargetto Winery 2006 Orange Muscat (Santa Cruz Mountains)
Reminiscent of orange marmalade on hot cinnamon rolls, this dessert wine is sweet, but not cloyingly so. A fine end to a meal.
