Eagle Foothills is a 49,815 acre AVA located in Southern Idaho, north of Boise, and inside the vast Snake River Valley AVA. It is the first Idaho AVA that is located completely inside the state boundaries. While a large area, there are only 70 acres of vineyard within the AVA at approval.

Elevations run up to 3,000 feet in this western inter-mountain appellation. Weather patterns present a semi arid nature with rolling hillside and grasslands the surrounding topography. Many Rhone varieties are grown here, but Merlot has achieved critical acclaim already.
