Appearance Straw to gold. straw to gold gold to amber Pale straw.
Aroma The classic mark is petrol /machine oil, an oxidation product of the floral terpenes. Here it is included as part of a rich complex of peach, honey, mango, ripe melon, bay and asian spice. Peach compote, guava and nectarine aromas. Complex and intoxicating honey, honeysuckle, tropical fruit. Sometimes botrytis. Lilac, clove, cilantro, petrol.
Flavor Rich, savory and exotic. Very sexy, not too sweet. A perfect acompaniment for fruit preparations of duck. A ripe, lush, oily Rheingau style, full bodied and loaded with fruit. Very lush, rich flavors, honeyed mouthfeel and long, persistent, well-developed fruit flavors in the finish. Lean, crisp and minerally.
Balance Off-dry with balancing acidity and a little tannin. A satisfying, low acid style. Long hangtime but low alcohol. Moderate acidity Lean, crisp and racy with a slight oily fleshiness.
