Varietal Character

Casavecchia
Casavecchia
A historical, yet rare, Italian variety that has become relatively obscure with little more than 100 hectares remaining in the country. The grape has been planted in test plot in Agentina since 2006.

Casavecchia produces significant tannins that must be managed for years as well as strong aromas of grapefruit, odd for a red berry to exhibit. The primary use is best suited to blending.
